2012 LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO LP 570-4 SPYDER PERFORMANTE

The Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante is a topless exotic bull which comes sans 140 lbs otherwise found on the normal LP 570-4 Spyder, thanks largely to a healthy dose of carbon fiber inside and out. Altogether, carbon-fiber components make up around 40 percent of the weight savings. In the interior, the center tunnel cover, the door panels and the surround of the e-gear automated manual transmission lever are all made from carbon fiber.

In the Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante, LP stands for “Longitudinale Posteriore” and refers to the orientation of the V10 engine – which is mounted longitudinally behind the driver, just like every Lamborghini engine. The number 570 refers to the maximum power output in horsepower, available at 8,000 rpm. The torque curve peaks at 398 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 rpm. The increase of 10 horsepower over the standard model is the result of the new dedicated engine management strategy.

With that power, this drop-top scoots from zero-to-62 mph in just 3.9 seconds while en route to a top speed of 201 mph. All that power is transferred to the ground at all four corners via new 19-inch wheels with Pirelli P Zero Corsa sports tires that are extremely lightweight.

Bugatti Veyron Super Sport

Meet the fastest production car in the world. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport. Verified by the Guiness Book of World Records with a top speed of 268mph (pic included)at Volkswagen Group's
proving ground at Ehra-Lessien, Germany.

Coming later this year, you'll need $2.1 million to buy the painted version, $2.4 million to purchase one in which the translucent carbon-fiber body is observable in its rich detail. It arrives later this year.

With 1,200-horspower -- no, that's not a typo - the Super Sport adds another 299 horsepower to the 1,001-hp Bugatti Veyron 16.4 that launched in 2005. Like the prevous model, the Super Sport has a twin clutch arrangement and paddle shifter, but no clutch pedal or stick shifting. To get the extra horsepower, it adds larger turbochargers and bigger intercoolers to boost the power of the 8-liter 16-cylinder engine. The chassis has been extensively tweaked to remain safe, in order to cope with the additional power and increased speed. Revisions include a slightly raised main-spring travel, stronger stabilisers, and new shock absorbers with a complex architecture similar to which used in racing.

Acceleration -- and deceleration -- sound like something out of space-program astronauts tests:

The car goes from zero to 100 miles an hour to zero in 9.2 seconds. Zero to 100 mph alone: 4.8 seconds. Now get this: Zero to 200 mph to zero in 25.6 seconds. And zero to 200 mph alone in 17.4 seconds.

The Super Sport's 16-cylinder engine is now fed air from two NACA ducts integrated
into the roof. The front air intakes have been expanded and reshaped, with the lower one extending elegantly around the sides to the wheel arch. The revised rear end is supposed to look sportier due to the double diffuser and a centrally arranged exhaust system.

GM's Greatest Engine Ever Created: The LS Series Motor

The Generation III V-8 engines replaced the Gen II-LT family in 1997 and Gen I completely by 2002. Like the previous two generations, the gen III/IV can be found in many different brands. The engine blocks were cast in aluminium for car applications, and iron for most truck applications (notable exceptions include the Chevrolet TrailBlazer SS, Chevrolet SSR and a limited run of Chevrolet/GMC Extended Cab Standard Box Z71 Trucks). The architecture of the LS series makes for an extremely strong engine block with the aluminium engines being nearly as strong as the iron generation I and II engines and with the iron LS engines far exceeding the capabilities of the previous two generations. The engine also introduced coil-near-plug ignition. The traditional five-bolt pentagonal cylinder head pattern was replaced with a square four-bolt design, and the pistons are of the flat-topped variety (in the LS1, LS2, LS3, LS6, LS7, LQ9 and L33), while all other variants, including the new LS9 received a dished version of the GM hypereutectic piston. The cylinder firing order was changed to 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3, so that the LS series now corresponds to the firing pattern of other modern V8 engines (for example the Ford Modular V8).

Info taken from Wikipedia

The LS series engine is now the most desired motor for engine swaps for almost any make or car. I will be posting pics of different cars with LS transplants in the near future.

Here's a few pictures and solid model of the greatest motor GM has ever built.

WRC Finland In-Car 2010

WRC Finland In-Car 2010

The Blog Name Caught Up To Me. But I Was Innocent.

Coming back from Nevada the day after Thanksgiving, I was leisurely driving down the highway through Sacramento on my way home to the Bay Area. I was driving between 65-70mph and was in the passing lane when a CHP came rushing up my backside. I thought he was going after someone else so I got in the next lane. He got behind me and turned on his lights. After I got off the freeway, I asked the officer what I was pulled over for. He said speeding. I told him I was maybe doing 70mph at the most. He told ME I was going much faster than that and that by his estimate from me passing slower cars (who were doing 55mph) I was going around 80mph. I asked if he had me on radar. He said NO, estimated. Which is bullshit! He writes up the ticket and comes back. It says I was doing 80mph. I told him I hadn't done 80mph on my whole trip. He said fight it in court. FUCKING ASSHOLE! So now I may have to take a whole day off work and drive to Sacramento to fight the ticket. While he fills his quota for the month of November.

So my buddy sent me this picture the next day. He's a tow truck driver and had to tow a CHP.

Did I say this already? FUCK THE POLICE!!!

2011 Bentley Continental Supersport

The Continental Supersport gets the potent twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter W12 engine that's rated at 621 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. Like the rest of the 2011 Continental range, it is also flex-fuel capable, meaning it can run on either gasoline or E85 ethanol. The engine drives all four wheels through a revised ZF six-speed Quickshift automatic gearbox.

Bentley says the combination provides 0-60-mph acceleration in 3.9 s

2011 911 GT2 RS

The new rear-wheel-drive road rocket will debut publicly at the Moscow auto show in late August and will go on sale in the United States in October. Sticker price: $245,000.

The GT2 RS, to be built in a limited run of 500, is powered by the latest evolution of Zuffenhausen's 3.6-liter, twin-turbocharged, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine, tuned to deliver a Le Mans-grade 620 hp. That's 90 hp more than the out-of-production 911 GT2 and 8 hp beyond the German carmaker's previously most powerful road car, the 5.7-liter, naturally aspirated V10-powered Carrera GT.

Porsche claims that the 911 GT2 RS lapped the Nurburgring in 7 minutes, 18 seconds--19 seconds quicker than the new 911 Turbo S. That's a time that would give it No. 1 billing among series production cars on standard road tires at the legendary German circuit.
